If you make them abundant portals, you definitely get a message. I think you get a message even if its not abundant, but I always make em abundant anyways.

you don't if it's not abundant. but you should see your portal usage on your profile go up. it can take awhile to update, but it will eventually go up.

You'd win a badge for going to losethegame.com every time you lost the game. If you lost the game more than say... 42 times in one week.
