I was a Pathmaker after being a shoat then for the next while I was a Vigilante (with none of my other associations being Pathmaker) now I'm back as a Pathmaker (where I want to be) so this will be useful:

March 27: Pathmaker > Vigilante > Bedouin
April 1: Vigilante > Bedouin > Seer

Over the past 24 hours I have Nicked and Mined myself a few dozen times...we'll see if that helps!

For a while there, I was a Bedouin, but that was only for a while.

Deploy a few St. Nicks and balance 'em out with crates, and the system doesn't know what to do with you!

What makes this odd is that I've used only 2 lightposts and no St. Nicks since joining. On the other hand, I've been going through portals and mines like they're going out of style. @_@

I think that the metrics used to calculate the Associations must weight the missions we take much higher than Tool usage...

@uberslayer Until you stop taking Pathmaker missions, or laying lightposts, PM will still rank really high.

today I am - Benefactor>Bedoiun>Vigilante but I've not even been online except for this morning. I actually had the toolbar turned off for most of the day!

I'm begining to think the whole thing is just random. o_@

@uberslayer When you go to the Missions page, use the Associations filter to find appropriate Missions. Just click on the far left of the bar where it says 'Associations' and click your preferred one.
Alternatively, search for the Mission title to find out what type of mission it could be. You will not always be correct, even if you find out the Association of the player who made it--I've made Missions in 4 Associations.

@astrogirl: Not using the Toolbar (or any form of Pmog) for a few days to a week does appear to do wonky things to your association. This seems to be an example of how the metrics interpret your Tool usage, and Mission-taking style.

Perhaps some Associations are weighted higher with non-use? It seems that most people who have taken time off end up as you describe--as some combo of Bedouin, Vigilante and Benefactor. These are the most passive of the Associations--they don't start anything, they react to the actions of other players. Now, to me, that makes sense, but I could be completely wrong! : P

Sadly, there aren't many missions to choose from in my preferred association (Bedouin). It makes me more miffed to find a bad one.

I always wait to make new missions until my association has come back to Bedouin :)
