Lightpost weirdness: url changed. (11 Replies)

Sorry, long story ahead. One of the missions I created long ago has some of its lightpost url changed from "pmog.com/blah" to "ext.pmog.com/blah". It doesn't strike me as a problem until somebody comment saying one of the external site has changed, and the mission is broken. I went to fix the link, and find myself stuck on last lightpost, which is now "ext.pmog.com/missions" instead of "pmog.com/missions". if I try went through ext.pmog.com, pmog server would throw me a 500 error(ps: I have disabled noscript in advanced); then I tried pmog.com, a bit better, I saw numerous portals but no lightpost notes, not once. "just keep refreshing", as I told myself this, a big red notice pop-up and said, "A server error occurred, and has been logged for inspection by the development team." maybe is that third-party cookie thing ? I checked my firefox v3.0.1 config, turns out it was accepting third-party cookie all along. So almighty forum, please tell me what's going on ? :( further info: the mission is http://pmog.com/missions/a_more_..., which is now, of course, stuck in drafts. my browser is standard firefox 3.0.1, with latest(418) pmog toolbar, nothing fancy. I meant no hate, just a little tired. Replied 11 months ago | Permalink |

one more note: the chance of lightpost notes NOT showing up is greatly increased since my last adventure, which is two months ago and firefox 3 wasn't even out yet. I wonder all this madness has to do with new firefox ? or simply a server thing. Replied 11 months ago | Permalink |

As far as the wandering lightpost issue, I believe that a fix is in the tubes...but are pop-ups for other missions working for you too? Replied 11 months ago | Permalink |

pop-ups works on other missions, but I can't seem to complete them.(yield 500 error, again, with noscript disabled) Replied 11 months ago | Permalink |

Oh wait, I removed noscript(latest 1.7.7) completely, and it seems to work now. Guess noscript is still a threat ;) lightpost issue remains though, supposedly I am not alone in this ? Replied 11 months ago | Permalink |

I just got two links changed in a mission of mine (again): http://pmog.com/missions/dni__co...
Unfortunately the Mystonline link now gives a server error and makes it impossible to complete the mission. I put a portal as a temporary patch, but the only real way to fix it is to edit the mission and switch the broken lightposts for new ones... which is kind of a shame, since any edit to the lightposts resets the rating to 3. Actually it doesn't. It looks like it does, but it doesn't reset your rating. :-) Just give it a bit to catch up. I've edited several of my missions and republished and they've always stayed 4 stars. Replied 11 months ago | Permalink |

Are you sure? I always thought they got back to 4 after receiving new ratings. Replied 11 months ago | Permalink |

During my last convo with the illustrious burdenday on the subject, he mentioned that missions are now being published with the rating of the Missionater--which was a new one on me. So now, it actually behooves one to be nice to others and maintain a high rating--since your new missions will get that rating. After re-publishing, if your mission was 2 stars, it will still be 2 stars...
