It seems impossible to change the security settings for e-mail. While the public/private/associate bullets have a submit button, and the delete history/delete account works fine, there is no way to submit the e-mail preferences. I'm kind of tired getting all those e-mails, and I'd like if I could change it.

Security settings? Do you mean the emails you get for new acquaintances etc? If you do you can deselect which things you don't want to receive emails for if you go on your profile, then select profile settings, and then privacy settings at the bottom of the page.

If this isn't what you meant, you may have to be a little bit more specific.

Under PMOG Email Preferences which is under your Privacy Settings.

You have these options:

[*]New Allies, Rivals or Acquaintances
[*]Weekly listing of your Acquaintances' Event Stream
[*]User/Comment Updates on the Missions you Create
[*]Forum Subscriptions
[*]Periodic Updates on PMOG

The emails you are getting, care to share what they are about?

It may also be that on the Forum you have subscribed to several topics and now whenever anyone posts in that specific thread you get an email notifying you?

I have all those options enabled on my profile and to be honest, I do not get that many emails.

;) 8-)

Those options do not work for me. I have it set to NOT email me about topics that I subscribe to. But what do you know.. I get 2 emails per update per thread I am subscribed to.

I have tried to explain this before, but no one ever gets what I am saying. lol. I gave up on it.. and hope that someday it's fixed.

@bunni3: joe did get it last time and i thought he figured it out - that it's not retroactive, it doesn't apply to old threads you subscribed to, but it should to new ones. but i've found that that setting also doesn't stay put either. i uncheck it and it's rechecked when i come back.

but i don't really subscribe to stuff so it doesn't matter much. i don't get any emails from pmog really.

I'd say there is a bug. It does not work as advertised.

I can confirm that I have my "Forum Subscriptions" unchecked, but that I still DO get e-mail alerts every time there is a post on a thread I've Subscribed to.

[To the Makers: Yes I want to be able to Subscribe to a thread, so I can go back and check on it using the "Forum Activity : Subscribed Topics" on my Profile -- But I do not want to be e-mailed about it.]

edit: I just saw sylverling's post...

Let me try to wave my magic wand on this one and see if we can't get it fixed sooner rather than later.

Sounds very annoying.

There is a ticket for this in the queue. It is a priority, but there is work to be finished in front of this issue.

@sylverling
I just read your post. (ya I am way behind on doing that)
It still happens to new threads as well. A thread that I made only 4 days ago, and subscribed to that day.. I received emails about every one of those posts. And I still receive 2 emails per post. One email telling me there's a new post, and one empty email.

So it still is broken all the way around.
