Community Standards and Expectations
GameLayers Inc. will enforce the following policy at its discretion regarding player activity and interaction within The Nethernet, PMail, and The Nethernet Forums.
Note: This policy does not supersede or hold precedence over the Terms of Service (http://thenethernet.com/about/terms). It serves solely as general guidelines for community interaction and behavior expectations.
- All tools, missions, and forum posts containing NSFW (Not Safe for Work) content must be clearly labeled as such. For guidelines on NSFW, see http://thenethernet.com/guide/rules/nsfw.
- No player may threaten or harass another player, whether through mission comments, portals left on profiles, messages left within crates, private PMail messages, tags, or otherwise. This does not include using in-game tools as they were intended to be used.
- No player avatar picture will contain sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive material.
- No player may impersonate a Trustee, contractor, or employee of GameLayers Inc., this includes usernames that would imply such affiliation. Nor may any player impersonate another player.
- No player may actively or passively exploit (including by use of a script or third-party application) or benefit from any bug, error, and/or unintentional change occurring within the game. If an exploit or bug is found, please submit it to bugs at thenethernet dot com.
- You will follow the direction of any Trustee pertaining to the enforcement of this policy.
For example, "I'm gonna mine you like hellfire!" would not be considered a threat or harassment, but personal threats to a player, such as: "i will kill u if i ever c u" would be.
If a player elects to violate the the aforementioned The Nethernet Community Standards and Expectations, any/all of the following actions may be taken, depending on severity:
- Any/all offending tags, avatars, posts, messages, missions, comment, and/or tools (including the messages within tools), etc., may be permanently deleted.
- The player may receive a written warning, a suspension from the game, or their account permanently removed.
- The player may forfeit any/all unearned tools, badges, and/or datapoints gained knowingly or unknowingly from active or passive exploitation of a bug, error, and/or unintentional change.
- The player may lose the ability to access certain functions of the game such as, but not limited to: tagging, PMail, the forums or commenting.
If you feel another player has violated the terms of this policy against you personally or in general, please send an e-mail to abuse at thenethernet dot com detailing the situation.
